Homebuyer tax credit closing deadline
extended. Congress has passed an extension of the
Homebuyer Tax Credit closing deadline, to September 30, 2010. The
extension applies only to
transactions that have ratified contracts in place as of April 30,
2010 that have not yet closed.

Last minute credit checks threaten closings. Do not use your credit cards, particularly for large purchases at any time post mortgage application, prior to your closing. If you do, you could lose both your financing and your deposit. Ouch! Here’s what this is all about:
I was wrong... 6/4- OUCH!! We’ve gone from a 3 year high in activity to a 3 year low. You may recall that I said that I didn’t think that the tax credit was having that much of an effect in the downtown areas. Wrong!
